Former Pakistani Skipper Salman Butt Lashed Out At Asia Cup Schedule Says PCB Doesn’t Care His Players

Salman Butt Lashed Out At Asia Cup 2023 Schedule: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) finally announced the official schedule of the upcoming Asia Cup on 19 July. The tournament will begin on August 30 with the match between Pakistan and Nepal which will be played in Multan. For the first time the tournament is being organized in hybrid model, in which 4 matches will be held in Pakistan and 9 matches will be held in Sri Lanka. Now after the schedule of Asia Cup came out, the former captain of Pakistani team Salman Butt got furious.

Pakistan team to leave for Sri Lanka after playing their first match against Nepal where they will play against India on 2nd September. In such a situation, Pakistan has to play its second match within just 2 days and Salman Butt, while expressing his displeasure, has also blamed the PCB for this.

Talking about the schedule on his YouTube channel, Salman Butt said that it is a very strange programme. Where Pakistan is playing its first match at home. At the same time, he has to play the second match in Sri Lanka only after 2 days. Whereas Sri Lanka is playing its first match at its home ground and Pakistan will come to play the second match and they have got a gap of 4 to 5 days.

Butt further said that despite being the host country, we are playing the second match within just 2 days. We don’t care about our players at all. This schedule is only proving that in which a tournament is happening and the flight is coming from here to there. But it is not easy, there is a change over in it. If you go from Sri Lanka to Dubai and from Dubai to Lahore then with change it will take you at least 5 to 6 hours.

Expected to have 3 matches between India and Pakistan

In the schedule of Asia Cup that has come out, India and Pakistan are included in the same group. In such a situation, both the teams will play against each other for the first time on 2 September. After this, on qualifying for the Super-4, the second match between the two teams can be played on September 10. At the same time, on reaching the final, on September 17, there may be a clash between India and Pakistan again for the third time.
